UK Mixed Doubles Invitational - The Billy Ross Skinner 2020

This Weekend Hatfield House Real Tennis Club proudly hosted the LRTA - Billy Ross Skinner - Mixed Doubles Invitational Tournament Sponsored by the Jesters.

We had the top 12 available ladies nationally partnered with a male players to balance the handicaps so that every match is played off level.

With 18 hours of group matches scheduled over Friday and Saturday followed by 8 hours of knockout rounds on Sunday there was some fabulous tennis on display.

After progressing through the group stages earlier in the weekend we had some fantastically close quarter and semi final matches on the Sunday with the eventual pairs making it through to the final of Alex Brodie & Julian Stafford vs Sue Haswell & Simon Mansfield

Congratulations to Sue Haswell & Simon Mansfield who managed to hold out in the final set for a nail-biting finish 6/4 6/5 to clinch the title!

Many thanks for all the competitors who entered this year, playing some fabulous tennis in great spirit in-front of a enthusiastic dedans. Also a huge thankyou to all the Hatfield members who helped steward for the tournament and to Stephen Brewerton who helped run the event on behalf of the LRTA .
