Wednesday Night Pennant 2022- 2023 Winner
The Lady Killers Defeated Driscoll’s Dingo’s 4 matches to 2
Winners of the Night Pennant Final: The Lady Killers vs Driscoll’s Dingos
Last Wednesday we had the Final of the Night Pennant between The Lady Killers & Driscoll's Dingos, both teams having battled tirelessly over the season to qualify for the final with some great victories along the way.
After the singles matches The Lady Killers took a slender 2/1 lead heading into the doubles, with a particularly clinical performance by Sarah Sullivan winning her singles 6/1 against Damian Driscoll and a close win for Liz Fisher 6/4 over Robin Mace, who played fantastically well despite an ankle injury. The one win for the Dingos coming from Paul Tripp, who played extremely well to see off Ciara Sullivan in a fantastic game which he just managed to take 6/5 to keep the Dingos hopes alive.
The first 2 doubles matches were shared which left the overall score at 3/2 to The Lady Killers but their superior games difference meant that unfortunately there was no way back for the Dingos whatever happened in the last doubles match. With the pressure off the The Lady Killers saw out the last doubles to take the title with a 4 matches to 2 scoreline and prevent the Dingos from being the first team in the event's history to win back to back titles. Congratulations to all the players though on a great evening and very successful seasons!
